Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles

The receiver was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left multiple people hurt. Rice was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.

Statistically, Rice concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
