Skydance Paramount Will Cut Approximately 2,000 American Positions – Update

Paramount Skydance will start large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 positions in the United States within a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.

These job cuts follow the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August with a value of $8.4bn.

Further international job cuts are likely, with Paramount Skydance intending to disclose all specifics during its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.

Prior news suggested the company planned to cut between 2,000 to 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

By December 2024, the company had nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 project-based staff.

Paramount Skydance has not provided a response regarding the report.
